Before you begin reading this, you should know that this is an account of my latest emotions during this season. I’ve definitely been on the struggle bus lately… For starters, I am terrible at time management; making time and room for everything on my busy schedule can be a bit overwhelming. As this semester is coming to a close, so are my chances of acing things. Midterms just ended and now finals are creeping up on me. Finding a way to balance school, church, social life, World Race fundraisers, and side jobs have definitely challenged my abilities. Sometimes in the midst of the hustle, God has to remind me to redirect my focus on Him by throwing in a few obstacles. Last week was full of those… it was one thing right after another. Then to top off my week, I wake up Thursday morning and grab my MacBook to slip in my backpack. I needed it to take my World Lit exam on and BOOM!!!!…. obstacle. As soon as I picked it up water ran out; not a little drizzle either, like a faucet had been turned on. Then I open my laptop only to see water rush out of the keys. Immediately I began to scream, thinking of how terrible this is and how much it will cost to repair it or get a new one. (being that its a $1,200 computer) My first reactions were to scream, “Oh my gosh! No! No! No! No!” Then I grabbed a towel, quickly drying it off. I pushed the power button with nothing happening. I scanned the room for the source of the water with no clues. To nip this  in the bud; I have no idea how this happened. No liquids were near it and no one was around it. My MacBook is my staple piece of technology that I use for literally everything. I use it to write things like this blog, papers and essays for school. As well as tests, quizzes, and other assignments (being that I attend a technology only college.) So many other things that I won’t even begin to name. Thankfully, my friend, Avery, let me borrow her computer to do all of my stuff on her macbook. Some how after stressing all day over my broken laptop, on my drive home I cut on my worship music playlist, put it on shuffle, and the song “Joy” by Highlands Worship came on. Immediately, I felt peace come over me. A peace that only comes from Jesus. I remembered how just the previous Sunday, Bro. Jared was talking about how coffee got spilt on his computer and ruined it. He still managed to find joy in what seemed like a really devastating time. Even though it seemed like an “End of the world” moment, for me I found a way to smile & rejoice because material things won’t last. Your salvation and joy with Jesus is eternal. Don’t let the things of this world steal your joy. Choose joy above all!

  1. I love this & thank you for being so in tune with God & writing what’s in your heart. It’s so beautiful how God speaks to you then you write & I read it & then I’m so blessed by your words! ??????
